Rug Doctor's Unique Approach to Stain Removal

Rug Doctor takes a different approach to stain clean-up from all other products claiming "one solution does it all" effectiveness. At Rug Doctor we know one-solution cleaning is impossible, because different stains attach themselves in different ways to carpet fibers and require specific solutions for effective removal.

There are two basic approaches to stain clean-up: oily vs. non-oily stain, or alkaline vs. acidic stain. Rug Doctor employs both techniques in a selection of products that will truly solve most stain problems. Pet Stain Remover is designed to neutralize plant-origin stains.
Spot Remover is better at alkaline stains and is an excellent first choice for "mystery" stains of unknown origin. Hi-Traffic Pre-Treatment is actually an excellent stain remover for greasy and oily stains but should either be followed with a machine use or carefully rinsed, as its sudsy nature can leave soap residue.

Carpet Stain Removal Tips

Remember - it's always best to clean up spills quickly. The longer a stain sets, the more difficult it is to remove, and the greater the chances that it will become permanent.

Please be aware that some stains, such as mustard, have dyes that permanently bond to carpet and cannot be removed. Pet stains such as urine, can sometimes have a bleaching effect on some carpet dyes, which can also create an irreversible stain.
